The file '/default.aspx' has not been pre-compiled, and cannot be requested.
I made some pretty serious updates to theJoyOfCode.com today which totally bricked the site for a while - apologies to those of you who saw the site with its pants down.
I had the infamous "The file '/default.aspx' has not been pre-compiled, and cannot be requested." error. The general
consensus seems to be that this is due to some missing pieces or dependent assemblies. I was confident all the bits of the site were there so it had to be another dependency. That was when the penny dropped: have my hosting providers upgraded to .Net 3.5
SP1 yet?
Nope. Oops. Not the most intuitive of errors either.
Anyway, we're back now and the changes are live so if you spot any issues or slow performance then please leave a comment.
Thanks
