I'm an Application Development Consultant with Microsoft UK. Based in the North West of England I travel around the region (and further) helping our customers and partners build great software on the windows platform.

In my spare time I enjoy doing most of the same stuff I do at work; plus playing 360, walking my dog Jack, and indulging in a bit of DIY with typically disastrous consequences. Recently there's been a small (but noisy) addition to the family in the form of my son, Hayden, who does his best to make sure I look permanently exhausted.

I've been in IT for as long as I can remember. Starting professionally as a Web Designer followed by a Usability Engineer and slowly slipping back through the stack until I'd forgotten how to use Photoshop. As always, I still harbour a love for all things UI (think WPF and Silverlight at the moment) but maintain my developer credentials on a vigorous diet of patterns, services, logging and test driven development to name but a few.
