Compiled and checked in

One of the most inadequate answers I receive when asking someone if a specific feature is implemented is "It's compiled and checked in...". When I receive such a response I am usually close to tears as I ask the following questions:

  • Can I see a list of passing tests?
  • Does it build on the build server?
  • Have you even done a manual test?
  • Can you at least show me the code working on your local machine!?!

The reason why I want to start crying is that I know if I ask the person they will most likely answer "no" to all the questions above.

To whom it may concern, please find a new job. Yeah right, as if you read blogs... :(
